Heuer Autavia GMT 2446c

Heuer first applied the name Autavia (a contraction of AUTomotive and AVIAtion) back in 1933 when they made dash counter clocks for racing cars and aircrafts, signifying its intended use in both automobiles and airplanes. But the early days of Motorsports and Racing is the era that the name Autavia is best associated with. The Heuer Autavia GMT we’re offering here combines Heuer’s mastery of the Racing Chronograph with a GMT function, and boy what an attractive package this is.

This GMT features a stainless steel case in very good condition with sharp bevels on the lugs and no signs of over-polishing, sure there are some scratches and small dents on the case, all minimal signs of handling and wearing the watch throughout the past 50+ years. The ”Pepsi” bezel looks amazing and has a heavy fading that turned the blue and red to a super attractive, aqua blue and light pink. The MK2 dial is in excellent condition with crisp printing and gorgeous even patina to the early Tritium compound, all Tritium has the same warm vanilla tone; the hour markers, the hands and the arrow on the red 24 hour hand – Absolutely yummy! The Compressor case and its snap-on case-back show an engraving, most likely this is the name of the very first owner of our Heuer Autavia GMT; Luca I. Bencini. The Heuer signed case back has some scratches on it and was polished in the past, but the engravings and numbers can still be read. Fitted with Heuer crown and ”fluted” Heuer pushers, this GMT remains in a very good and very appealing condition; With its sporty, retro look yet elegant design this Autavia ticks all the boxes a collector of vintage (Heuer) watches could wish for.

Powered by a Valjoux 72 movement, this Heuer Autavia GMT 2446c chronograph was fully serviced by our watchmakers. Note that we stayed far away from any polishing of the case! This watch will be delivered with a 12 month warranty.
