OMEGA 2639 SALMON WAFFLE DIAL

This gorgeous Omega 2639 from 1953 has an absolute stunning dial! As you can see the Salmon coloured dial has a Waffle finish which was typical 1950’s design for multiple brands, but a very rare feature in todays world of vintage watch collecting.

That beautiful Salmon Waffle dial has applied, yellow gold arrow-head markers with Tritium dots at the base of the arrow. Apart from the hour-markers, the Omega logo and the Arabic numeral 12 are also applied to the dial. The watch still retains it’s original gold Dauphine hands and gold small seconds hand. All luminous material on the indexes and inside the hands are still active under UV light but are non-active with natural lighting or sunlight – This corresponds to the characteristics of the luminous materials used in these watches during the 1950’s. We kept the watch-case unpolished as the sides of the center-case show beautiful curves, it’s like a stepped curve following the horizontal lines of the case and merge right into the lugs which are sitting slightly higher than the steel bezel – A next level stainless steel case on this already super stylish vintage Omega!

With it’s 35mm this Omega is a slightly oversized (dress) watch, but as you can see from the wrist-shot above, the watch looks way bigger on the wrist – a nice plus due to Omega’s 1950’s design and the large dial. This 2639 reference is fitted on a new, non-Omega stainless steel, beads of rice bracelet. This rare Omega 2639 was fully serviced by our watchmakers and keeps excellent time, she will be sold with a 12 month warranty.
