ROLEX DAY-DATE 1811

Our Rolex Day-Date with reference 1811 distinguishes itself from any other Day-Date out there by its finish on the bezel and on the center links of the president bracelet. This finish is called Morellis or Moire, and is not to be mistaken with the so-called Bark finish, it might look the same at a glance, but its totally different once inspected up close. Also, the Bark finished Day-Dates are always and only a reference 1807 (when dealing with four digit Day-Date watches) and the Moire/Morellis finish is exclusively used on the 1811 Day-Date watches.

So, we’re dealing with a rare Day-Date here. The overall watch is in a very good condition, this gold stunner didn’t see much wrist time and when it was on the wrist, the previous owner took excellent care of it. The 44 year old president bracelet shows little stretch and still looks very good. The case is nice and thick with some of the the original brushed finish still present on the lugs. The original factory diamond dial is set with ten diamonds in total – eight round ones, and two baquette cut diamonds for the six and nine hour-marker. The dial is in a nice condition with all Tritium dots acounted for. I think its pretty clear that this is not your everage Day-Date, this is a pretty unique and rare watch, and one that you won’t encounter everyday.

The movement of the Day-Date is fully serviced by our watchmakers but we did not polish the case and/or  bracelet. The watch will be delivered with a twelve month warranty.
