ZENITH A277 ‘SUPER SUB SEA’
The case on this Diver Chrono is still very thick with the nice downturned bevelled lugs still visible – Both original pushers and Zenith winding crown also remain in good condition. The hour and minute hand are showing some missing lume, just on the top layer of the Tritium, however it’s not through and through, so the aesthetics of the matching lume with the hands and indices still remains. The stainless steel bezel has been polished at some point in time but is fitted with a gorgeous faded, grey/blue insert which sets of really nice against that matte black dial.
This Zenith A277 could be a transitional model from the first to the second generation of A277 models. Why? This Zenith Chronograph features the first gen. non-lume chronograph counter hand, along with the hand-blued hands for the three sub-dials. However, the watch features the second gen. 146HP caliber and the four points star logo on the winding crown and case-back, only fitted to the second gen. of A277’s models.. All in all, this is a beautiful Zenith Diver Chronograph from the sixties and one of the last manually wound calibers Zenith made before they transitioned into the El Primero era – The watch has been serviced by our watchmakers and will be sold with a 12 month warranty.
