This Heuer Carrera Chronograph is a watch you need to get used to for the first few minutes of seeing, or wearing it. Because of it’s asymmetrical dial layout and a winding crown on the nine, instead of the three o’clock position, it feels kinda off. But once your used to this seventies Speedometer for your wrist, it’s one of the coolest Heuer watches to wear with an amazing vintage presence.

With the running seconds placed in a small crosshair on the top left side of the dial, and not in line with the minutes register found on the right side of the dial, this is one of the most uniquely designed 1970’s chronograph dials and watches one can buy. The greyish blue subsidiary registers and outer Tachymeter ring, combined with the bright orange chronograph counter hand, and bright green Tritium on every hour-marker and inside the hands, makes for a funky and very ‘happy’ watch. The case on this Heuer Carrera is nice and strong with the original pushers and winding crown present. The watch is fitted on the rare and desirable Gay & Frères ‘beads of rice’ bracelet, this stainless steel bracelet wears very comfortable and still remains in very good condition. Also important to know, both end-links to the bracelet fit snugly between the case it’s lugs – To close up the bracelet a folding clasp is used with an extra flip-lock to secure it, the outside of the clasp has been polished but the Heuer logo is still visible.

Mr. Jack Heuer designed the Heuer Chronograph watches himself, and with a name like Carrera (derived from the legendary road race in Mexico, known as La Carrera Panamericana) it’s a piece of automotive and horology history for your wrist! The watch it’s automatic caliber 15 has been serviced, and this seventies cool, Heuer Carrera Chronograph will be sold with a 12 month warranty.
