Heuer Dato Compax 2547

The Heuer Dato Compax 2547 is the most complicated watch produced by Heuer during the 1960’s, it features a 12 hour chronograph, day, date and month indicators and is a watch powered by the famed Valjoux 72 movement. A resemblance with the very rare Rolex Dato Compax is easily made and as a matter of fact these watches share the exact same movement and dial maker. The Heuer we’re dealing with here is an equally rare watch, but available at a fraction of the price when compared to a Rolex Dato Compax.

Our Heuer is a so-called second execution of the reference 2547 which features the thinner lug case, but we’re happy to report that this is an early example of a second execution. Therefor it features that beautiful blue, crescent date indicator (later 2547 references had the more often seen, red crescent date indicator). These early examples feature steel hands and round pushers including short steel hour-markers on the dial. That very well balanced white dial shows a gracefully aged vintage condition with beautiful and typical 1960’s fonts – If you’re like me and know how to appreciate a nice font, this dial will have you staring at it for minutes on end. The date and month-wheel of the calendar complication feature the days of the week and months of the year in the French language. This wonderful and rare Heuer Calendar watch is worn on a calf skin Racing strap with original and very rare Heuer ”Sun” buckle, which shows some wonderful dark aging of the steel. The Heuer Dato Compax 2547 is a watch rarely seen outside of private collections or auction house rooms.. This is a fresh to the market Heuer Dato which was bought directly from a local collector, so here’s your chance to snatch up an all original specimen without all the hassle of battling other bidders.

This complicated Heuer watch was fully serviced by our watchmakers and once again shows a wonderful amplitude and correct functioning of the chronograph and all calendar functions – We stayed away from polishing or brushing of the case. She will be sold with a 12 month warranty.
