Jaeger-leCoultre Memovox Parking

The Jaeger-leCoultre Memovox Parking is an iconic vintage timepiece introduced in the late 1950s. The mechanical alarm ticking inside, powered by the caliber 814 movement, distinguishes this watch from many others manufactured during that same time period. This Jaeger-leCoultre was created as a wristwatch with “built-in parking meter” for the wearer in order to avoid overtime parking fines – The Memovox Parking acts as a second memory throughout the busiest of days.

The mechanical alarm on the Memovox Parking is one of its most intriguing features. A second crown on the watch’s right side operates this mechanism, that crown is used to  set the alarm by rotating the center disc on the dial to the desirable time it needs to sound. A tiny hammer inside the watch rapidly strikes a gong when the alarm goes off (so-called chiming), causing it to ring loudly and clearly at the predetermined time. It’s always nice to see peoples face when they hear this alarm for the very first time. The silver dial is highly recognizable thanks to its blue and white “P” pictogramme, the blue color is also still very present and vibrant. The silver parts of the dial do show some specs or ‘scars’ from aging, but all in all the dial and watch remain in very good conditions. The time is read via the so-called Dauphine hands, which are distinguished by their slender, tapered form.

The high-end mechanical alarm mechanism was created by Jaeger-leCoultre in the 1950s – The precision and dependability of this movement have led to its emergence as a prized collectible among fans of vintage watches. This movement and the Jaeger-leCoultre Memovox Parking watch has become a sought-after collector’s item among vintage watch aficionados due to its dependability, but yet quirky and fun complication. The stainless steel case of this Memovox Parking remains in all original conditions, including the original JLC signed crowns. All numbers on and inside the watch are clearly readable to the naked eye.

This Jaeger-leCoultre Memovox Parking is a beautiful watch to look at, in addition to having useful functions. The watch is worn on an original black JLC leather bracelet, and closes around your wrist using the original, vintage JLC buckle. The Memovox has a classic elegant appearance that will never go out of style – She will be delivered with our 24 month warranty.
