LEONIDAS CP-2 ITALIAN ARMY

This Leonidas CP-2 is the oversized brother of our Leonidas CP-1, both watches were designed according to military specifications and that’s the reason why they look exactly alike. However, this Leonidas CP-2 measures 43mm in diameter and sits quit a bit bigger on the wrist. These E.I. engraved models were issued to Italian Army helicopter pilots, who wore these type of watches mostly on the wrist of their flight suits because the flex bracelets would constantly pull out the hairs on their arm..

The CP-2  is a true Toolwatch powered by caliber 222 with Flyback complication, the same caliber that can be found in the Breguet Type 20 for instance, chosen back in the day by the French army for their aviation forces. The cool feature about the Flyback function is that the wearer can use the reset function without the need to first stop the chronograph. Watches equipped with the flyback function were especially meant for pilots, it is much friendlier from the point of view of time saving, to instantly restart the chronograph with one push of the button, instead of three. Especially when the wearer of the watch is conducting military operations. Our Leonidas CP-2 is a watch with true MilSpec attributes – The one piece bezel with it’s oversized numerals, the black dial with large Arabic numbers and the specific hands, are all part of the CP’s military design. Most importantly of course are the E.I. (Esercito Italiano = Italian Army) military markings on the case-back. These engravings are clear as day and are solid proof that this watch was issued to an Italian Army pilot. The entire case-back, case and lugs remain in unpolished conditions and this watch has an amazing vintage and Toolwatch, wrist presence.

If you enjoy an oversized MilSpec. chronograph with a cool and functional complication, this CP-2 Flyback Chronograph might just be your watch! She was serviced by our watchmakers and will be sold with a 12 month warranty.
