MK1 1675 GMT ‘Long E’

Just take in all the awesomeness that is this wonderful MK1 1675 GMT ‘Long E’ – an iconic and highly collectible Rolex timepiece which are only getting more rare by the day, especially ones in this particular condition. This GMT-Master features a spotless dial that has remained free from water or moist damage throughout the last 53 years of its life. The dial on this beauty is truly spotless with a beautiful matte black tone, and a warm contrasting vanilla patina on the Tritium hour dots, and matching vanilla Tritium inside the hands. The stainless steel, rotatable bezel is still fitted with the original ‘Redback’ aluminum Pepsi insert, Redback inserts are the original ones that were fitted on these GMT’s during the 1960’s and 1970’s. The Long E nickname refers to the E in the word ROLEX just below the Rolex coronet logo, that E is stretched compared to E’s on other GMT dials within this same reference, hence the nickname of this fine vintage wristwatch.

The center-case on this MK1 1675 ‘Long E’ remains in a truly wonderful condition with strong lugs and fat crown guards. Look close and you will see smooth and sharp chamfers running down the edge on each of the four lugs. The case is fitted on a solid Jubilee bracelet from a slightly later period, but the condition is incredible as the Jubilee is without stretch and in near new condition, also notice the snug fit of the end links between the lugs, nice and tight without room to move so no rattling of any kind with this vintage GMT. The date-wheel underneath the dial is still the original silver one with its attractive serif font with open sixes and nine numerals – It will be hard to find a better MK1 ‘Long E’.

As always, this 1675 GMT was once again fully serviced by our watchmakers according the Rolex factory specs, and will be available with our 24 month warranty.
