Rolex Datejust “Wide Boy”
We are excited to offer you another carefully selected vintage Rolex Datejust. This 1603 reference is a so-called “Wide Boy” Datejust and we are happy to report that literally everything is still all original. These watches are nicknamed Wide Boys due to those particular and instantly recognizable, wider hour-markers and wider minute and hour hand (both perfectly equal in width).
Inspect the beautiful silver, Sunburst finished pie-pan dial with its spectacular Wide Boy indices, have a look at that typical and beautiful 1960’s black Serif font on the dial. Focus on the aged Tritium on the dots and inside the hands and inspect its colour and compound. Have a look at the folded Jubilee bracelet with that stunning clasp or the clean Engine Turned bezel – they all radiate Swiss Made quality of a perfectly aged vintage Rolex. This “Wide Boy” Datejust was manufactured in 1968 with a Jubilee bracelet that shows a clasp code which is in line with a 1969 production date – Another great match, cause as you might know, Rolex production dates can vary about two-three years. This entire Datejust truly looks the part and gives off the coolest vintage vibe with an overall condition that is very good, showing a strong case that is still nice and thick with beefy lugs. The reference and serial number are clearly visible and readable between the lugs and the original Folded Jubilee bracelet remains in a very good condition with minimal stretch for a watch this age, fitted with the more rare and much sought after, Big Logo clasp. It truly is a magnificent vintage Datejust which was taken very good care of for the past 50+ years and is now ready to be cherished by a new owner.
We’d like to invite you to our showroom so you can view and inspect this Rolex Datejust ‘Wide Boy’ with your own two eyes. As always, this vintage Rolex was fully serviced by our watchmakers and the watch will be sold with our 24 month warranty.
