ROLEX GMT 1675 MK2

The GMT-Master is the ideal traveling companion when flying through different timezones, even more ideal if that GMT is an attractive vintage example! Like this Rolex GMT-Master, reference 1675 from 1973 with MK2 dial for instance.

The MK2 dial distinguishes itself with a very well balanced dial-design and with a nice boldness to the font on the dial. Another distinctive feature of the MK2 dial is that the Tritium lume is flat and does not maintain the cushion like characteristics, like with other GMT’s. The colour, or patina if you will, of the Tritium on our GMT is best described as a light vanilla tone. The seconds and GMT arrow-hand feature that same light vanilla colour but the hour and minute hand are a bit darker, more yellow. All four of the hands are original non-white gold hands, and are somewhat corroded, however, this is only superficial. All hands we’re fully checked during service and these are good to go for another 40 years. We Always like to keep as much of the watch it’s originality in tact, therfor we chose to keep these original hands on the watch instead of using service hands.

This GMT is fitted on a 6251H folded Jubilee bracelet with a beautiful Big Crown logo clasp, the bracelet is in a very good condition and truly looks the part. The Rolex Service Center Pepsi insert is bright in tone and gives this MK2 GMT, in combination with the Jubilee bracelet, a very strong presence! As always, a full service was executed to keep this beautiful Rolex watch in the best of conditions, she will be sold with a 12 month warranty.
