ROLEX OYSTER PRECISION B&P

Its always a great thing to meet and talk to the first owner of a vintage watch. Its nice to hear the backstory to a watch and where it has been. Its even better if that first owner also took great care of the watch. In this case, the former owner of this Oyster Precision hardly ever wore his Rolex with reference 6426 and kept the watch with its box and paperwork. Making this a nice little catch for you collectors out there that insist on box and papers with your vintage timepiece.

Another cool thing is that this Rolex Oyster was retailed by Elka (aka KIEK) in Amsterdam. As the Rolex papers tell you the watch was sold in 1975 but was manufactured in 1971. So, this watch spend four years being on stock before it was sold. Nothing too shocking during the 1970’s though. Horloger Elka was one of the oldest Rolex retailers in the Netherlands, the shop opened its doors in 1913 and remained a Rolex AD up to 1999 when the doors of this famous watch boutique closed for good. As mentioned above we were Lucky enough to purchase this watch from the first owner. As you can probably tell from the pictures, the watch was hardly worn! Have a look at the fat case, fat lugs, stretch free bracelet, original brushing on the case – near factory fresh. The dial on this beauty is known as a Texture dial, it kind of reassembles woven lines of textile or linen, hence the other nickname to these type of dials – linen dial. These dials are truly beautiful and unique! Also notice the Tritium in the hands and at the end of the hourmarkers, all are perfect and have a beautiful yellow matching patina.

As far as our opinion goes this beauty is unpolished, all links on the folded Oyster bracelet are present and no one ever tried to remove a link (that’s usually when these folded bracelets start to show traces of damage, mainly on the inside, and with dents on the outside) The watch spent the majority of the last 43 years in a safe, so here’s your change to snatch up a wonderful and unique vintage Rolex with its original and rare (display) box and filled out warranty. We will include a little extra provenance with this watch, something we got from the owner and that the potential buyer will absolutely appreciate – stop by and find out what that little extra is.

This Rolex Oyster is powered by Rolex’s hand-wound caliber 1225 which was fully serviced by our watchmakers. This beauty will be offered with a 12 month warranty.
